MELANNA is a dark rock / grunge band from Latvia, Pļaviņas. Formed in the end of 2006 by Valdis Bebrišs (vocal, strings), Andris Vērdiņš (strings), Māris Baginskis (bass) and Ivo Strazdiņš (drums). In its time of exsistance Melanna has made songs that show their perception of life. The name of the band comes from a girl characters name in some painting.
